Azure RemoteApp – Behind the Scenes

Difficulty Level:

Azure RemoteApp is not a magic, it’s also not a brand new service from Microsoft. Azure RemoteApp is built based on Windows Server Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host). A RD Session Host server is the server that hosts Windows-based programs or full Windows desktop for Remote Services clients. Users can connect to a RD Session Host server to run programs, to save files or to use network resources on that server.

Access to a RD Session Host server each user sees and uses only their individual session. The session execution occurs on the server and it’s managed transparently by server operating system.

Azure RemoteApp is built with Windows Server 2012 R2 Datacenter operating system.
